Labia Correction

A labia correction (labiaplasty) can functionally and aesthetically correct enlarged or asymmetrical labia. Each treatment is individually planned and tailored to your anatomy and personal preferences.

Intimate surgery is an important part of aesthetic medicine, and intimate surgical procedures are becoming increasingly sought after, especially among women. The most common intimate surgical treatment is labia correction, also known as labiokorrektur or labiaplasty. Its goal is to correct and reshape the inner and outer labia according to the patient's wishes. During a labia correction, the inner labia can be reduced, while the outer labia can be tightened and volumized. Reasons for a labiaplasty may include genetically enlarged labia or sagging of the labia due to aging or childbirth.

What is the procedure for a labia correction?

The procedure for a labia correction depends on the type of correction. Typically, it is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia with sedation. The most common labia correction is labia reduction. If the inner labia are so enlarged that they are no longer enclosed by the outer labia or even hang down, this can be perceived as disturbing not only from an aesthetic perspective but can also lead to pain during sports or sexual intercourse. Surgical reduction of the inner labia can provide relief. During an approximately one-hour procedure, excess tissue from the inner labia is removed, and depending on the findings, various cutting techniques may be used. The wound edges are sutured with self-dissolving stitches, and the labia reduction is complete. Corrections to the outer labia are also possible. If the labia have lost volume and firmness, a labia augmentation can achieve a volumizing effect. By injecting autologous fat, which is obtained from the body through a small liposuction procedure, new volume is added to the outer labia. An injection of hyaluronic acid can also be used for this purpose. If there is excess, sagging tissue in the area of the outer labia, this can be surgically removed during a labia tightening procedure. This achieves a visual rejuvenation of the intimate area.

What should be considered after a labia correction?

After the labiaplasty, the genital area should initially be cooled. A few hours after the procedure, the patient can leave the clinic, but she should rest for a few days. The genital area should not be subjected to mechanical influences, so sports and sexual intercourse should only be resumed about 4 weeks after the procedure.
